The ER-EPD042-2RY-5103 is a 4.2-inch color E-Paper display module engineered specifically for the Raspberry Pi ecosystem. Supplied as a complete HAT kit, it stacks directly onto the 40-pin GPIO header of Raspberry Pi and Raspberry Pi Zero — no soldering, no extra wiring. A standard 3-wire/4-wire SPI interface plus a 24-pin 0.5mm-pitch ZIF FPC connector ensures a secure, reliable connection right out of the box.

Vivid Four-Color E-Ink Performance
Powered by the JD79668 controller with a built-in timing controller and 400×300 resolution, the panel renders four striking colors — red, yellow, black, and white — far beyond ordinary monochrome E-Paper. With high contrast, a full 85° viewing angle, and true sunlight readability, the display looks like printed paper in any lighting condition. Better still, it draws zero power while holding an image, making it unbeatable for battery-powered builds.

Slim, Durable, and Developer-Friendly
The COG (Chip-on-Glass) package keeps the module remarkably thin at just 1.0 mm thick, with a compact 91.00 × 77.00 mm outline and 84.80 × 63.60 mm active area — easy to embed in enclosures, frames, or portable gadgets. It operates from 0°C to 40°C and supports partial refresh, so developers can update only changed regions of the screen for faster, more energy-efficient performance.
